Exploring British Imperial Crew Agreements and Official Logs, 1863-1972

Memorial University Newfoundland are running a workshop with archivists, researchers, and specialists who work with the Crew agreement collections archived in Newfoundland and the United Kingdom.

These maritime documents record important information about the domestic, colonial, and foreign seafarers aboard British ships. Crew Agreements and Official Log Books contain both vital data and broader information about lives (and deaths) at sea while crews transported cargoes and passengers around the world in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Join them for this two-part workshop on February 3 & 17, starting at 10:00 AM Eastern//3:00 PM GMT, where speakers will explore the history of these records, their continued relevance, and the research projects they inspire.
